Miguel Vieira Baptista, Lisbon 1968

Studied at IADE University in Lisbon and graduated in Product Design by the Glasgow School of Art in 1993.

Since 2000 he combines his main activity as product designer for brands like Asplund, Authentics, Kvadrat, Materia or Vista Alegre Atlantis, along with several exhibition and interiors commissioned by clients like, EDP Foundation, Experimentadesign, ModaLisboa - Lisbon Fashion Week or Renova.

From 2003 Miguel Vieira Baptista started regularly producing and exhibiting limited editions pieces for galleries like Loja da Atalaia, Cristina Guerra, Marz and Appleton Square.

He has also curated several exhibitions like the “Dieter Rams Haus” presented in 2001 at the Centro Cultural de Belém - CCB in Lisbon.

Along with his design practice he lectures the course of Industrial Design at ESAD-CR in Caldas da Rainha since 2000. In 2010 he was guest professor at the ECAL - Ecole cantonale d’art de Lausanne.

His pieces have been widely exhibited and are part of several private and public collections like MUDE Lisbon’s Museum of Design and Fashion Collection Francisco Capelo.

In 2013 he was awarded with the Audi Mentor Prize by A&W in Cologne.
